Saturday (May 23):

and then:

What: Sunset Dinner Cruise
When: 4:45pm – 9:00pm
Where: 13977 Palawan Way, Marina del Rey
Attire: Cocktail Casual

A nod to the infamous Thot Yacht adventures of Julia’s bygone youth. We’ll board at 4:45pm and set sail thereafter. We have not sampled the food yet, but are hoping for the best.

Sunday (May 24):

What: Wedding reception
When: 6:00pm – 12:00am
Where: Hatchet Hall, Mar Vista
Attire: Cocktail

If all goes according to plan, Julia and Kegan will have been married for exactly 30 minutes by this point. There will be cocktails & canapés, music & magic, and dinner & dancing. When the clock strikes midnight, Clara Harter (of the LA Times) will be leading the surviving soldiers into the Old Man Bar for records and nightcaps. Whoever makes it until then wins Clara a bet.

Monday (May 25):

We recommend staying somewhere in Venice, Marina Del Rey, or Ocean Park.

Venice and Ocean Park will be the most walkable neighborhoods as far as hitting the shops, beach, and restaurants if you don’t have a rental car. These areas will likely be popping on Memorial Day Weekend.

Marina del Rey is quieter, while also being in good proximity to the festivities and beach. However, can be less walkable to amenities depending on where exactly you stay.

The wedding reception will take place in Mar Vista (about a 15 minute Uber ride from all of these places).

There are plenty of hotel and Airbnb options in these areas as well as Ubers to hop around.

LA traffic is BRUTAL (in case you haven’t heard). Don’t get cocky and stay on the east side, unless you want to pay a million dollars in uber fees and sit in traffic for most of the weekend.

If you want to run an Airbnb / hotel location by us, we’re happy to consult.
